Roger Haydon will address some of the FAQ of the publishing business: when and how to contact a publisher; how a proposal should look like; how to think about a publishing strategy; where to publish; and what kind of products publishers and readers like. The discussion will be interactive and complements the individual consultations.
About the lecturer
Roger Malcolm Haydon is an Acquisitions Editor, Senior Editor, and now Executive Editor at Cornell University Press, where he is responsible for Press publications and program decisions in politics, international relations, area studies (esp. Asian Studies), political theory, aesthetics. Acquire on average 25-30 new books per year.
Previously he was an Associate (i.e., managing) Editor at International Organization, a journal published by the University of Wisconsin Press and then MIT Press and a Technical Writer at the Departments of Education and Communications Arts, Cornell University.
