Dominik Brenner holds a Master's degree in Political Science with a specialization in Political Economy from Central European University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a minor in History, from the University of Freiburg (Germany).

In 2014, he joined the Political Science Department at the University of Freiburg as a student assistant for the Chair of Multi-Level Governance.

As of 2016, Dominik Brenner is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School. He is affiliated with the Political Economy track and held the chair of the Political Economy Research Group (PERG) for the academic year 2017-18. Dominik was a visiting lecturer at McDaniel College Budapest (2018) and a visiting PhD researcher at the European University Institute in Florence (2020).

His major interests include the political economy of finance (in the EU), legislative politics, favouritism, and computational social science methods.
