I am an analyst of Russian civil-military relations and security sector reforms. My reports were published in CSIS, RUSI, Meduza, Kennan Institute, Riddle, The Moscow Times, Novaya Gazeta, and Echo of Moscow. The core of my work is to conduct evidence-based analysis using quantitative (panel data, quantitative text analysis, quasi-experiments, big data and machine learning in R, Python, and Stata) and qualitative (text analysis, QCA, process tracing) methods. I am a member of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society and listed as an expert on Russia in Chatham House’s roster of scholars. I speak Russian, English and learn German and French.
