Magdalena Tsankova

Magdalena is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations at the Central European University, working on the topic of cybersecurity.
Her dissertation, ‘Cyber Security Or: How We Learned To Start Worrying And Fear The Internet‘, explores how the advent of computer technology and cyberspace has changed the way we theorize and practice security.
Prior to joining CEU, Magdalena obtained her B.A. from the American University in Bulgaria with a double degree in Political Science and International Relations and Journalism and Mass Communication, and her M.Sc. in International Relations and Transnational Governance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Currently, Magdalena is a visiting scholar at the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies (SIWPS) at Columbia University.
