The Doctoral Program of Political Science is regulated by CEU's Doctoral Regulation, and the Doctoral Regulations of the Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations.

The following regulations updated on December 2, 2022 are addressed to the Doctoral Students of the Central European University:
- Download the P-1103-01v2212-2 Dec 2022 edition of the CEU Doctoral Regulations - (enrolled prior to 23/24 and did not opt-in): applies to doctoral students who enrolled in CEU doctoral programs prior to the academic year 2023/24, and who chose not to opt into the new four-year study and funding scheme.
- Download the P-1103-01v2212-1 Dec 2022 edition of the CEU Doctoral Regulations - (opt-in or enrolled starting 23/24) : will enter into force on August 1, 2023, and will apply to
(1) all student cohorts who enrolled in CEU doctoral programs from the academic year 2023/24 onwards, and
(2) those students in the cohorts whose enrollment started in the academic years 2022/23, 2021/2022, 2020/21 and who chose to, and were approved by their programs, to opt into the new four-year study and funding scheme.
