Europe's Destiny.

From Hayek's trap to fair Brexit.

by Philippe Van Parijs / Université Catholique de Louvain

Wednesday, March 21 / 5:10 Pm  / Popper room

Chair: Andres Moles (Central European University)

Abstract / The most fundamental challenge facing the European Union today was insightfully anticipated by Friedrich Hayek in 1939: Europe has become unable to do what it needs to do by economic unsustainability at the level of member states and political unachievability at the level of the Union. Unless an appropriate deal is struck, Brexit may make Europe’s predicament even worse.

Followed by a reception

The lecture is part of the 13th ANnual Doctoral Conference (21-23 March, 2018)
