Dr. Carlos Meléndez will present a comparative study on Brazil, Costa Rica and Honduras on the missing link between political identities and populism.
Dr. Carlos Meléndez is an associate researcher at Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, United States) and is working on a research project on negative partisanship in comparative perspective (with a special focus on Latin America). His work has been published in American Journal of Political Science, Party Politics, Journal of Politics in Latin America, among others. He writes a weekly column in El Comercio, a Peruvian newspaper. He is recently a Research Excellence Fellow with a CEU/HESP Visiting Fellowship at CEU.
