Cornelia's research interests lie at the intersection of European integration, EU governance (emphasis on CFSP, industrial policy and defence industrial policy), and security studies. Particularly, she is interested in European defence politics, international defence collaboration and procurement, as well as EU-NATO relations. Her dissertation aims to understand the different dynamics of defence industrial integration since the start of the war in Ukraine, particularly focusing on the role of defence firms in fostering further integration.

She has teaching experience from courses on liberal democracies and the liberal international order, EU governance and European integration, and is currently involved as a research assistant at the Department of Public Policy. In 2025, Cornelia was awarded the Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students.
