Ihor Moshenets is a PhD candidate at Central European University and an External Lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His paper-based doctoral project examines interest-group advocacy in shaping key decisions of the EU Green Deal, with a particular focus on how diverse actors influence the definition of Europe’s future decarbonization pathways.
Ihor’s broader research interests span the international political economy of energy, the sectoral dynamics of European integration, and theories of global governance and policy processes. He has presented his research at major international conferences and early-career events organized byAmerican Political Science Association, Austrian Society for Political Science, British International Studies Association, European Consortium for Political Research, European Union Studies Association, International Studies Association and the University Association for Contemporary European Studies.
His independent applied research has been featured by outlets such as the Foreign Policy Research Institute (US), Energy Post, The European Sting, The Europaeum (EU), VoxUkraine, Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, and European Pravda (Ukraine).
Before entering academia, Ihor worked as an assistant to a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, as a Policy Officer in one of Ukraine’s largest business associations, and as an analyst in civil-society organizations.
