Anatoly Reshetnikov is participating at the Visby Programme - scholarships for PhD research

Anatoly (5th year doctoral student at the International Relations track) takes part in the Visby Programme that provides funding for academic mobility and helps PhD students from the Baltic Sea region to be able to carry out research projects at Swedish universities. 
The programme aims to build an integrated, knowledge-based and research-intense region centered on the Baltic Sea and including the EU Eastern Partnership countries and Russia.

After earning her PhD in Political Science from Central European University (CEU), Mariana Budjeryn has received a Stanton Nuclear Security Postdoctoral Fellow position at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

We wish Mariana a great success in her future career.

The PhD-level course offerings for the next Academic Year can be downloaded from the Doctoral School website.

The Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations has published its curriculum and Fall semester course schedules for the Doctoral Program in Political Science, for the Academic Year of 2016-17. The curriculum lists all PhD-level courses offered by the School throughout the Academic Year, while the Fall term schedule provides the exact timetable of the different courses.

European countries are struggling to respond to an unprecedented surge in desperate migrants, the largest movement of people Europe has seen since 1945. The largest group of people come from war-torn Syria but there are many from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Eritrea, or Kosovo. The growing crisis has led to politically charged arguments about Europe’s open borders and sharing the burden. Disputes are heated not only about definitions of ‘migrants’ vs. ‘refugees’ but also what obligations – legal, moral, etc. - European states have in dealing with this crisis.

Dr Philipp Thaler published his recent article “The European Commission and the European Council: Coordinated Agenda setting in European energy policy” in the Journal of European Integration
